The red-shouldered hawk, buteo lineatus, is widespread in the Eastern part of North America.These birds of prey look for their catch form tree tops and while soaring over fields and forests including urban areas. This one perched on a low branch giving me a chance to approach with 20 feet.
This photo was the basis for my Cafe Art piece "Hawk".
